Marcia Messer
Marcia has an extensive background within customer service and caregiving, so it was only natural when she became interested in behavioral health in 2016. Marcia worked at Rainier State School, a facility specializing in the service of developmentally disabled adults with mental health and aggressive behavioral issues, for almost 7 years. While there, she worked with low and high functioning adults and taught and/or assisted them in maintaining daily living skills, coping skills, taught therapeutic options, and also applied crisis intervention techniques as needed.
Marcia states that she has always enjoyed working with and for the people within her community. Being able to advocate for those who are not able to advocate for themselves, or for those that just need some form of assistance, has always been one of her favorite things to be a part of. She chose to be a part of this field because of her love of caring for and helping others. “It always warms my heart and gives me feelings of accomplishment knowing that I am helping others succeed in their endeavors!”
