Job Overview:  Provide full time, all year, leadership mental health treatment and community services in the school setting.  Some in-home and community- based services that support the family system may be provided.  Developmentally appropriate practices to enable children to have their needs met and improve the quality of their lives. Provide training and support, to the other Child and Adolescent School Specialists as needed in order to assist them with getting acclimated to the agency, the schools, and the unique community therapist/school counselor role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide services to youth while collaborating with parents, teacher, and school resources.
  • Perform thorough mental health assessments and provide therapeutic interventions.
  • Provide face to face contact with consumers, their families and community supports.  Submit service reports on a daily basis. Meets productivity requirements.
  • Engage in proactive community outreach to aid and educate the local population.
  • Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and maintain high standards of care.

Willapa Behavioral Health and Wellness is an outpatient treatment provider. We are nationally accredited and have provided high-quality care with experienced professionals to Pacific County since 1986. Services include mental health programs for adults, children & families, case management, chemical and problem gambling treatments, peer services, domestic violence perpetrator treatment, co-occurring disorders, medically assisted treatment, psychiatric prescribing, trauma-sensitive primary care, and 24/7 mobile crisis services.

Our Raymond and Montesano locations are located approximately 3 hours from Portland and 2 hours from Seattle, and our Long Beach location is 2 hours from Portland and 3 hours from Seattle, all located in a beautiful, calm setting.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in social work, Counseling, Marriage and Family therapy, or a related field, and certification as a Mental Health Professional.
  • A minimum of at least two years of experience working with at-risk kids.
  • Experience in providing counseling services to individuals, families, and groups.
  • General knowledge of systemic approaches.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, computer proficiency to document in the electronic medical record (EMR) and utilize telehealth and Microsoft office suite.
  • Undergo and pass a criminal background check upon initial employment and any subsequent statements required by the agency.
  • Meet requirements of the agency’s drug-free workplace policy.
  • Excellent customer service with a client focus.
  • Able to sit, stand, and move for long hours at a time and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Current driver’s license, working vehicle, able to drive occasionally, and driving record that passes insurance company’s underwriting guidelines.
  • Able to drive in daylight, darkness, and typical Northwest weather conditions.
  • Essential worker providing in-person delivery of care.
  • Compliance with Washington’s vaccination requirements for health care workers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children, adolescents, and families.
  • Child Mental Health Specialization.
  • Experience providing treatment services in the community.
  • Cultural competence-namely the impact culture has on the therapeutic relationship, including that of the therapist.
