If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with a mental health disorder, we want to reassure you that you are not alone. Mental illness diagnoses are much more common than you may think — in 2020, almost one in five American adults experienced a mental health issue. In addition to therapy, counseling, and support groups, we are also able to offer psychiatric medication management to help with the symptoms of mental health concerns..

Our knowledgeable and compassionate psychiatric providers at Willapa Behavioral Health & Wellness in Raymond are licensed to offer psychiatric diagnostics and prescribe and manage all schedules of medications. Because mental health conditions may change over time, it is important to meet regularly with a psychiatric provider who can ensure your treatment is safe and effective.

Is Psychiatric Medication Right
for Me?

Personalized psychiatric medication has become increasingly relevant to the mental health space in recent years. As more and more studies are conducted, medical professionals can predict the unique responses of different patients to different drugs. Positive outcomes are becoming more predictable which makes psychiatric medication safer and more effective.

Who do we Serve?

We care for children and adults at our Raymond clinic. For children, we offer wellness checks, child and adolescent sick visits, sports physicals, chronic treatments, and more. And for adults, from young adulthood to geriatric care, our primary care providers can address your preventative treatment and medical needs. If we can not provide the specific care you need, we are happy to assist in referrals for specialty issues.

Our Person-Centered Approach to Medication Management

At Willapa Behavioral Health and Wellness, we aim to provide every person with the mental health treatment and care they need. Our psychiatric prescribing team will determine the best treatment for you and help manage your medications over time — medication management may include changing dosages, switching medications, or adding /removing prescriptions.

What to Expect During Your Visit

For a client’s first appointment, they will meet with a member of our psychiatric prescribing team for a 2-hour diagnostic evaluation. During your evaluation, we will learn about your medication history, mental health history, and other relevant factors. Please bring in any prescribed medications that you are currently taking. We want to ensure the medicine we may prescribe will not negatively interact with or counteract medications you are already taking.

If we determine that medication is an appropriate course of treatment, we will send a regular prescription to the pharmacy of your choice. Ongoing check-ins are recommended on a case-by-case basis to ensure the treatment is working. Additional blood or lab work may be necessary to confirm the medication is not altering health levels of body function.

How We Provide Innovative Treatment

Not all frequently prescribed medications affect or treat a condition in the same way — that is why we are progressive in the treatments we offer. Our providers stay up-to-date on the latest mental health research and treatments so we can offer new, effective treatments to our clients. For example, our clinics in Raymond and Long Beach now offer esketamine treatments, a newer treatment in the field of depression and suicide.
